JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the management of a highly complex food operation that includes Rathskeller, Stiftskeller and the Brat Stand, a large restaurant complex with alcohol service and concession sales. The Assistant Manager will provide direct supervision to full time and part time staff. This position is responsible for overall management of the unit, sales, customer satisfaction, food safety and profitability. The position is scheduled when the business needs dictate. This position works a combination of days, nights and weekends. Consistently 2 days off every week and 45 hours per week is expected. Responsibilities: Oversees daily food service operations including staff management and/or customer issue resolution in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals. This individual identifies work unit needs and contributes to the development of unit processes and procedures. 20% Develops, implements and oversees workflow components, and assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff 5% Selects, develops, implements and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations 45% Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities 20% Assists with unit budget monitoring, management of inventory levels, and staff training 10% Monitors adherence to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures, identifies needs and makes recommendations for improvement to leadership Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
