The role
What you’ll do:
The Data Governance Expert is responsible for the implementation, management, and oversight of the data governance framework within the organization. This role, being part of MDM and Data Governance team, ensures that the data governance processes are robust, scalable, and aligned with the overall data strategy of the organization. The role holder will collaborate actively with various stakeholders in Business and IT to challenge and streamline processes for an optimized operational efficiency, compliancy and data quality reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement data governance frameworks.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
Coordinate and facilitate the collaboration between Data Engineers and Business
Collaborate with data stewards and data analysts to define data standards and data quality metrics.
Monitor and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
Conduct workshops with Business to analyse requirements and challenge existing processes.
Provide training and support to data users on data governance practices.
Coordinate data council meetings and activities according to the data governance agenda.
Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data governance and data management.
What we need to see from you
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
Hands on, solution oriented and creative thinking.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica) is a plus.
Excellent written and spoken English
