JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Great Valley in Malvern, PA is seeking a dedicated and energetic Academic Program Coordinator to join our Academic Support Team. Reporting to the Director of Academic Operations, the Academic Program Coordinator will support and act as a point of contact for students and faculty. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized individual who can coordinate several projects simultaneously. The ability to be self-reliant, adapt to new situations, and show effective time management skills is critical.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Act as a primary contact for student inquiries and concerns, problem-solving and providing effective solutions
Answer, screen, direct, and/or process visitors, telephone calls, and emails
Coordinate student retention efforts
Lead the coordination of functions such as meetings, workshops, and retreats including travel, lodging, meals, etc.
Support faculty search and recruitment efforts
Create and maintain digital files, student databases, reports, and communications
Assist with admissions and enrollment processes within the Academic Divisions
Communicate and collaborate with counterparts within the College and/or University
Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects
Serve as a backup to other staff, as needed
Position Requirements
Strong time-management skills with the ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks, and ensure deadlines are met in a bustling office setting.
The ability to work independently on projects and solve problems with research and little guidance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience working with a diverse student and faculty body
Excellent communication and team-oriented skills
Preferred Skills
Demonstrated related work experience as an Administrative Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, or similar role
Strong experience using Microsoft Office technologies such as Excel, Word, Office 365, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint
Experience with student records databases
Familiarity with various office equipment and technologies
The position requires regular communication with students, faculty, staff, and other university units. Strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and a proven track record of working effectively within a team environment are a must.
This position typically requires a high school degree (or equivalent) and 2 years of related professional experience. An Associates’ degree and a minimum of 4-7 years’ experience is preferred. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
