Cloud Engineer, Specialist (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) -- Design, develop and implement high quality software features in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud; develop backup and disaster recovery automation in AWS to support company's cyber resiliency; troubleshoot complex cloud computing issues related to multiple AWS services including S3, DynamoDB, RDS and AWS Backup; develop observability and monitoring systems to monitor backups and recovery; develop cyber backup and restore automation testing capabilities. Requires Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related IT field and two years of experience in job offered or in IT position(s) including Software Engineer and/or Senior Software Engineer; or Bachelor's and five years of experience. Background in education, training or experience must include background in AWS cloud engineering including designing, developing and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications mainly with S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, RDS, Lambda, and AWS Backup; proficiency in Python or other object-oriented languages including PHP and Scala; familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous deployment) tools including Jenkins or Bitbucket; domain knowledge in Cyber recovery, Disaster Recovery strategies; experience or has had certification as an AWS Solutions Architect -- Associate. Company operates on hybrid model with three days in office and work-from-home available two days.
