VWR International, LLC Metrology Supervisor in Manati, Puerto Rico
The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Metrology Supervisor to be responsible for the day-to-day activities of an assigned group of onsite lab services team members. The Supervisor monitors key department metrics to deliver high level service to customers, handles customer questions and issues, researches and resolves customer problems, and prepares schedules to cover departmental duties.
This person also manages performance goals including appraisals, mentoring and coaching and may assist a higher level supervisor.
This role will be a full-time position based out of our Manati, PR office.
What we're looking for:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in electronic, instrumentation, or science-related field.
- Experience:
- Five (5) years of applicable experience in customer services/purchasing/or account management.
- Previous experience managing associates.
- Strong Knowledge of ISO17025 and ISO9001.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Must be Customer Service Oriented.
- Ability to manage Scientific Services by applying math formulas.
- Ability to travel up to 5% as needed to customer sites.
- Valid Driver License and transportation.
- Ability to comply with all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances, and medical checkups.
- Knowledge of Information Access and ERP Systems; intermediate Microsoft Office Knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic understanding of Microsoft Access.
- Excellent customer service skills: display a professional can-do attitude.
- Vast Knowledge of Metrological applications.
- High regard for safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and multi-task oriented.
- Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward-thinking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both customers and various departments within Avantor.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and ability to make sound business decisions.

- Lead and direct team efforts as well as perform work provided in SOW related to customer requirements.
- Coach and motivate team members to successfully perform job requirements and to meet/exceed goals and objectives. Encourage through mentoring and support individual, professional, and team growth.
- Manage open order status reports, customer, metrics, and department reports, and SOP/SOW maintenance.
- Provide training and development and back-up to associates to perform required tasks.
- Perform administrative duties such as associate performance appraisals, succession planning, timecard review, vacation scheduling, etc.
- Create and maintain: SOP's, SOW's, and KPI's.
- Act as a liaison between customers, VWR services, and VWR sales.
- Ensure GxP Compliance and Good Documentation Practices.
- Bring value to the customer through personal development in the industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
