What will you do?
In this role, you will manage employees in the daily production operations while holding them accountable for all company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department and its employees; including performance management, time-keeping, and safety procedures.
Assist in the training of new hire employees and ongoing education for the team.
Expedite shop orders through the department.
Coordinate with management and/or employees from other departments in the manufacturing/fabrication/assembly process.
Help team to maintain machines and work area in a clean and safe manner.
Floating schedule to cover approved supervision absences (a lways one to two week notice before shift change)
Base schedule is 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Key Competencies:
Strong focus on Safety
Have previous supervisory/management experience
Experience in one or all of the following is preferred: welding; metal fabrication; machining
Able to read blueprints
Excellent communication skills; able to converse professionally with shop and office employees, supervisors, managers, and executives
Proficient with performance management, including plans of action and evaluations
Proficient with MS Office
Detail-oriented
Consistent shop floor presence (2/3 of shift)
Multi-task on a consistent basis throughout the shift
Average math skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete logs, documents, and reports in English
Work with others and be a team player
