Position Available -- Dispatcher

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of a 911 dispatcher.

Job Description:

  • Receive and handle all incoming emergency 9-1-1 calls, business telephone calls and communication with the deaf (TDD)
  • Radio Communications with county and city law enforcement and all fire agencies.
  • Document all calls for service in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification
  • Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLE) and Computerized Criminal History Certifications
  • Monitor cameras

Necessary Skills:

  • Ability to read and write
  • Proficient with keyboarding

  • Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment
  • Desire to help the public
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervision.
  • Ability to work 8- and 12-hour shifts which include hours other than dayshift, holidays and weekends.
