Position Available -- Dispatcher
The Marion County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of a 911 dispatcher.
Job Description:
- Receive and handle all incoming emergency 9-1-1 calls, business telephone calls and communication with the deaf (TDD)
- Radio Communications with county and city law enforcement and all fire agencies.
- Document all calls for service in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System
- Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification
- Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLE) and Computerized Criminal History Certifications
- Monitor cameras
Necessary Skills:
- Ability to read and write
- Proficient with keyboarding
- Customer Skills
- Multi-Tasking
- Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment
- Desire to help the public
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervision.
- Ability to work 8- and 12-hour shifts which include hours other than dayshift, holidays and weekends.
