IBM Data Scientist in MARKHAM, Ontario
Introduction
Watsonx Code Assistant is an exciting new offering from IBM that strives to revolutionize enterprise software development with Generative AI. We need your expertise, your motivation and your collaboration to take watsonx Code Assistant to the next level.
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models.
Your role and responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be in two areas:
In-depth evaluation of new large language models for code tasks, to provide guidance to the team creating the models.
Designing and implementing comprehensive feedback data analysis that helps both IBM as well as its customers understand the performance of watsonx Code Assistant on key tasks in the Software Development Life Cycle. The results of this analysis will directly feed into product improvements.
Technical Oversight:
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Machine Learning models and AI solutions.
Ensure the use of best practices in data science, including model validation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Stay informed about the latest developments in AI/ML and drive the adoption of relevant technologies within the team.
Required technical and professional expertise
3+ years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
Proven track record of delivering large-scale AI/ML projects, focusing on in-depth model evaluation and feedback data analysis.
Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models is highly desirable.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
Deep understanding of Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data processing tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas).
Preferred technical and professional experience
Passionate about how AI can change software development and motivated to turn this into a reality.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to a variety of audiences.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments.
