Description

We are seeking an interim Sr. Accountant with non-profit experience to join our team located in Martinsville, Virginia. This contract role will be hybrid onsite (2 day a week) and involves a range of accounting tasks, from general ledger maintenance to financial analysis. It's a contract employment opportunity that will challenge you to apply and grow your accounting skills in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all general accounting functions including month-end closing preparation, monthly accounting reconciliations, and ensuring the company financial transactions are properly recorded

• Prepare month-end financial reports

• Prepare and post general journal entries

• Perform detailed monthly review, analysis, and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts

• Analyze financial data to compare forecasted and trended results

• Assist Controller with preparation of schedules and documentation for year-end audit

• Conduct thorough monthly reviews, analyses, and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

• Ensure all company financial transactions are accurately recorded.

• Assist with the preparation of schedules and documentation for year-end audits.

• Prepare and post all general journal entries effectively.

• Take on the responsibility for all general accounting functions including month-end closing preparation.

• Analyze financial data for forecasting and trend analysis.

• Prepare month-end financial reports to ensure transparency and accuracy.

• Maintain monthly accounting reconciliations meticulously.

• Leverage skills in Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for efficient execution of tasks.

• Process customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience and comprehensive knowledge of GASB accounting (i.e., fund accounting)

• 2-4 years of accounting experience required

• Ability to work independently

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and MUNIS is required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to be onsite in Martinsville at least 2 days a week
