We're seeking an energetic Operations Manager to lead our flagship Lawn Fertilizer and Grass Seed Manufacturing Plant in Marysville, OH. You'll drive safety, quality, production, associate development, and continuous improvement across the plant, making a real impact on people and our best-in-class lawn products every day. What you'll do in this role: Take the helm of our fertilizer granulation and packaging operations, leading a dynamic team in a fast-paced, three-shift production operation. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on impact, overseeing: * Team Leadership: Directly guide salaried supervisors and engineers while indirectly leading 150-200 hourly associates. * Strategic Planning: Shape short- and long-term operating goals while driving plant-wide initiatives. * Safety & Compliance: Champion a best-in-class safety and environmental culture, while also ensuring compliance to federal and state regulations. * Operational Excellence: Optimize production schedules, enhance quality control, and spearhead cost-reduction and waste-minimization efforts. * Associate Development: Collaborate with HR to foster recognition programs, succession planning, and targeted training for your team. * Budget Ownership: Manage department budgets, including labor utilization, material costs, and new product costing. * Innovation & Growth: Support new product launches, facility expansions, and capital projects through resource alignment and cross-functional collaboration. * Community Engagement: Represent the company at local events, building goodwill and enhancing our positive image. What you'll need to be successful: * Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred), Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field, with 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing/production (ideally in packaging or solids handling). * Manufacturing Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing operations, including continuous improvement, safety, quality, purchasing, and financials. * Leadership Mindset: Proven ability to lead with a big-picture approach, breaking down silos and driving enterprise-wide success. * Business Savvy: Strong attention to detail, with a track record of leading change and delivering exceptional safety and business outcomes. * Exceptional Communicator: Skilled at building relationships across all levels, from frontline associates to senior leaders. * Team Builder: History of cultivating high-performing teams in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. * Continuous Improvement Focus: Passionate about driving strategic initiatives and delivering measurable results. * Growth-Ready: Eager to take on new challenges, with the flexibility to relocate for future opportunities within Scotts Miracle-Gro.
