Description GENERAL SUMMARY: The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting all scheduling, warehousing and/ assembly activities within the assigned area. The individual will oversee personnel, quality, safety, inventory and environmental requirements for their assigned area. This role may be required to oversee other areas of the distribution center in cases of vacancies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Completes production/shipping plan by assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising priorities, resolving problems, and reporting results. * Responsible for training new and existing employees and updating the training matrix. * Identifying the need for standardized work and ensuring it is clearly defined and followed. * Interface with other departments to address quality and process issues. * Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. * Recommend alternate solutions to improve quality and operational efficiencies using BES tools. * Maintain, report, and drive improvements in relevant metrics and key performance indicators * Understand and ensure customer specific requirements, as related to your function, are met. * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. * Coaching and developing team members as well as training new members * Reporting timesheets, managing employee issues, vacations, and disciplinary action for team members * Driving continuous improvement projects that improve quality, increase ergonomics and increase productivity * Adherence to the Barnes Group Code of Ethics and Conduct * All other duties as assigned Qualifications Behaviors Team Player - Works well as a member of a group Leader - Inspires teammates to follow them Detail Oriented - Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well Skills Planning & Scheduling (preferred) Inventory Management (preferred) Continuous Improvement (preferred) 41 CFR 60-1.35(c) Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
