Position Overview
Applies knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical support to all areas of Plant operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilitys equipment
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
- Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D certificate
- Ability to read and write the English language
- Prefer industrial or manufacturing experience working with mechanical components such as conveyors, motors, power trains, bearings, pneumatics/hydraulics, etc.
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work
- Exposed to high voltage electricity and excessive heat
- Ability to push, pull, or lift heavy objects and/or machine parts with or without assistance
Physical Requirements
- Requires repetitive movement
- Requires walking
- Requires kneeling, crouching and stooping
- Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing
