Job Title: Journeyman Electrician (LC)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Journeyman Electrician in McLean, VA . Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 26 The Schedule is: Monday thru Friday 2pm to 10pm

The electrician performs various general electrical maintenance and repair tasks plus minor construction functions in a variety of highly skilled and medium-skilled electrical trades support work. This individual is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, components and parts. This job normally performs daily electrical maintenance as well as IDIQ electrical work for small construction jobs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned by EGS Management. Assigned duties cannot conflict with the CBA.

  • Completes the task in a workman like manner with the estimated time and material budget. Daily direction for these jobs is provided by the EOS

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all building electrical systems.

  • Assists the Facility Manager and EOS in looking at new jobs for scope and technical understanding.

  • Repairs and maintains building electrical equipment and fixtures as directed.

  • Is available for emergency call back or required overtime as directed by the EOS.

  • Assist Engineers and HVAC Mechanics in maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems in assigned properties.

  • Responds to tenant maintenance requests.

  • Assists in electrical PM testing and maintenance to all building electrical systems, to include emergency power and UPS.

  • Assists in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly and safe condition.

  • Carries out Company policies and procedures.

  • Perform all other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeymen’s electrical license (MD, DC or VA).

  • 3-5 years experience in electrical support functions in office building and\or and data center environment. Service truck experience is acceptable. 1 year of construction trades experience can be substituted.

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Must process good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

  • Organized and detail oriented, ability to learn quickly and prioritize work tasks

Physical Demands

Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision
