Shift: Monday thru Friday 7am-3:30pm
Description:
Coordinate maintenance planning activities and provide operations support. Coordinate in-house planned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and work order backlog for the department. Work closely with the Maintenance Department to identify and procure critical parts for the plant by acquiring materials and services and placing purchase orders for goods that have standard costs and quoted discounts already in place. Coordinate efforts between production and maintenance to prepare schedules for shutdowns and to carry out the preventative maintenance programs. Prepare and complete reports as required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Order materials, supplies, and services for the plant and track orders through the purchasing process
Maintain accurate records on all ordering and track expenses for maintenance budget reporting
Maintain and update daily maintenance work orders through SAP system
Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels
Interface with the plant leadership team to obtain details of work orders and projects
Provide project management for plant initiatives, including but not limited to, project paperwork creation, obtaining quotes from contractors, and managing the project to completion once approvals are received
Receive all work orders from the requesting departments of the assigned areas, except for emergency work, which is requested of the Maintenance Supervisor for immediate attention
Utilize AutoCAD to create and/or modify plant drawings
Obtain blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals, and special procedures as needed from files, vendors, or other sources as needed. Make sketches or diagrams as necessary to clarify intent of the work order
Maintain backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with estimated completion date. Ensure those unplanned, requiring engineering, waiting for materials, waiting for downtime, etc., are filed accordingly
Develop a maintenance work schedule for the Maintenance Supervisor. From the backlog files, select a group of work orders with labor and parts requirements matching the capability of the work force taking into account any work carry over from previous jobs
Issue approved schedules in advance to area supervisors (both maintenance and operations)
Follow up to ensure completed schedules and work orders are returned at the proper time. Carefully review completed schedules and corresponding work orders submitted by the Maintenance Supervisor and monitor work order progress for any necessary reports
Review regularly with the Maintenance Manager the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and material used for completed jobs in order to determine corrective measures needed to improve the accuracy of estimating work and materials
Establish and update machine history requirements as needed
Utilize various matrixes to measure success of scheduling/planning function
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s Degree or technical school degree/completion preferred
1 year of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) work experience; inventory management and control experience; and experience in a manufacturing related position
SAP and AutoCAD experience preferred
May be required to obtain and maintain certifications and/or licenses
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good written/oral communication skills
Good administrative and mathematical skills with willingness to handle paperwork
Strong PC Skills including word processing and spreadsheets; proficient typing skills
Strong project coordination/management skills
Able to read blueprints and shop drawings
Able to understand the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
Able to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks
Able to develop strong relationships with all employees, supervisors, and managers
Must demonstrate enthusiastic attitude towards leading change and implementation of systematic processes required to achieve maintenance objectives, which directly support manufacturing excellence
Must be able to read, write and speak English
