Robert Half Attorney/Lawyer in Medfield, Massachusetts

Description

Our client is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their legal team in Medfield, Massachusetts. The primary focus of this role will be within the Trusts and Estates field, contributing to the innovative and forward-thinking Estate Planning and Administration teams. You will be responsible for handling probate and trust administration, estate planning, and dealing with taxation and trust accounting issues.

Role: Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney

Comp Package: $125,000 - $165,000 (DOE)

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and interpret legal documents, including trust agreements, appointments, amendments, and resignations.

  • Manage the preparation of probate inventories, court filings, and probate accountings.

  • Prepare summaries and accountings for trust beneficiaries.

  • Communicate with trust and estate beneficiaries regarding distribution matters.

  • Assist in the administration of trusts at various stages of the process.

  • Draft a variety of estate planning documents using WealthDocx software.

  • Meet with clients in the TrustSupport™ program to review, update, and enhance their estate plans.

  • Prepare gift tax and estate tax returns.

  • Support tax professionals in preparing fiduciary income tax returns.

  • Assist with asset retitling, identifying relevant provisions, and executing principal payments.

  • Oversee the management of real estate properties owned by estates or trusts.

  • Collaborate with client advisors, including financial planners, accountants, and other attorneys.

  • Supervise and delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants as needed.

  • Meet the annual billable hour requirement of 1,500 hours.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in probate and trust administration.

  • Previous experience and interest in managing a team.

  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts; admission to other states is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of the estate administration and planning process.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Experience with WealthDocx, GEMS, and Clio legal software is a plus.

  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously.

  • Capable of working independently, under pressure, with minimal supervision.

  • Notary Public certification is a plus.
