Job Title: Golf Course Mechanic
Primary Job Description:
- Maintenance and Repair: Independently repair and maintain various gasoline and diesel-powered golf maintenance equipment and the club's gasoline golf cart fleet.
- Safety and Communication: Ensure safety procedures are a top priority and communicate any needs or problems related to maintenance or repair of equipment.
- Inspection and Diagnosis: Regularly inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment.
- Equipment Setup: Set up and modify new equipment as needed.
- Preventative Maintenance: Keep up with the preventative maintenance schedule, including oil, grease, air, gas, etc.
- Fuel and Inspection: Keep maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected; perform related tasks as required.
- Course Inspection: Inspect equipment on the course and perform other duties as assigned by the Course Superintendent.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Experience: Two years of equipment repair experience.
- Licenses: Valid Driver's License.
- Skills: Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment, mechanical ability, and the ability to use common mechanical tools.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Physical Activity: Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
- Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
- Environmental Conditions: Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, moderate cold, and extreme heat. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and motorized equipment vibration.
- Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
