Langlands Restaurant & Bar is modern in nature but at the same time, rustic in character. Our kitchen provides Victorian sourced produce, married with a beverage list that will be ever changing. Langlands Restaurant's focus is fresh, colourful, sustainable and approachable.

Assistant Director of Food & Beverage

Based on site in Melbourne the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage will assist the Director of Food & Beverage with the successful planning and operation of the Food & Beverage Department.

We’re searching for a driven and visionary leader to join our team. If you're a natural leader with a passion for innovation and culinary excellence, this is your chance to shine in Melbourne’s 5-star hospitality scene.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Development and implementation of departmental strategies

  • Assessing the financial implications of every strategy by calculating the expected return on investment (ROI) and ensuring that initiatives align with business and brand goals

  • Managing budgets by evaluating and monitoring manning, financial forecasts and inventory levels

  • Standardising operational procedures to maintain consistency and quality in service and product delivery

  • Implementing team member retention and training processes

  • Building strong relationships with local suppliers to ensure quality ingredients and products

  • Liaising with all necessary departments to ensure the productivity of the department is successful in its daily operations

Qualifications:

About You

  • A seasoned hospitality professional with premium restaurant or 5-star hotel management experience

  • A true foodie with in depth knowledge of Victorian produce and trends

  • Strong leadership skills to coach, mentor, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences

  • A strategic thinker with solid financial decision making, to manage budgets, maximise profits, and drive success

  • An exceptional communicator who can build relationships and collaborate across departments

  • Able to stay calm under pressure, confident in decision making, and adaptable to change
