Job Description

Our global Buildings and Places business line brings together a versatile and collaborative term of urban planning, building design and engineering professionals working to create liveable, sustainable, and equitable cities.

Due to internal promotions, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our building services team, based in Melbourne. This presents an opportunity to work on a variety of projects in the health, aviation, commercial and defence sectors.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Be influential in the preparation of technical design documentation on building services projects across a variety of industries and market sectors. Work closely with a team of experience, multidisciplinary engineers in major projects contributing to project planning, design delivery and mentoring junior engineers within the business.

  • Contribute to the projects in the broader team, by providing specialised advice on a range of projects, using your knowledge and experience of Australian standards.

  • Step up and lead electrical components of major projects across health, aviation, defence and education, commercial projects, delivering exceptional outcomes to our clients.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders across our expansive multi-disciplinary engineering team to provide high-level technical advice on some community-defining projects. You will be given exposure to client-facing roles with the support of a Principal Engineer.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Ideally, 5 + years’ experience working in electrical building services design including lighting, general and specialist power, earthing/lightning protection and power distribution and reticulation.

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree with experience working in the building services sector for a consultancy or a contractor (with excellent design experience).

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, demonstrating leadership qualities and aspirations to grow with AECOM.

  • Proficiency in industry standard software including AutoCAD, PowerCAD, Revit, MS Office, AGI32.

  • RPEV and CPEng or working towards CPEng – we will support you.
