Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Purchaser in the manufacturing industry, based in Melbourne, Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring electronic components and managing suppliers while utilizing ERP/MRP systems.
Responsibilities:
• Procure necessary materials for production, including electronic components and bare boards.
• Manage the complete purchasing cycle, from creating purchase orders to tracking deliveries and resolving discrepancies.
• Analyze MRP requirements and convert them into actionable purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
• Evaluate supplier performance on the basis of quality, delivery, and cost.
• Identify and establish new sources of supply to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
• Control inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing carrying costs.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure material availability and timely project completion.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within the ERP/MRP system.
• Monitor market trends and pinpoint potential supply chain risks.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including ethical sourcing practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing department. Requirements • Proven experience in a Purchaser role within the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in buying processes and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrable experience as a buyer, particularly in a manufacturing context.
• Working knowledge of SyteLine, including how to effectively utilize its features for purchasing tasks.
• Familiarity with Syteline ERP and its application in the purchasing process.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and supplier performance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field would be advantageous.
