Our Melrose Park location is part of our Meat division and creates batter blends, pastry blends, and bread crumbs. We are a fast paced, never a dull moment manufacturing facility that comes together as a team to get the job done.
What will you do?
Main Objective
Provide site leadership for Food Safety and Quality in alignment with Kerry Corporate Policies and ensuring that all products meet or exceed our customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety: Ensure effective food safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk. Support Food Safety and HACCP program and team at site level, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices, preventive controls and prerequisite programs are in place and effective.
Quality Systems: Support food safety and quality systems including QC & QA, acting as SQF Practitioner. Develop, review and align procedures with Kerry global standards and FDA/CFIA expectations. Internally audit against global and regional standards and site procedures with a continuous improvement mindset to drive excellence and compliance.
Effectively manage the food safety and quality system at site which shall include HACCP and Food Safety Plan review, Prerequisite Programs, GMPs, GLPs, Pest Control, Sanitation, and other programs as required by Kerry.
Compliance: Enforce Kerry manufacturing standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory audit compliance. Support the site for regulatory inspections (FDA/CFIA), identify preserved (ie.organic, Kosher) and customer audits.
Quality Improvement: Track and trend agreed upon KPIs. Support the plant Quality Improvement and Master Plans. Partner cross-functionally in quality and process improvement by applying RCAAP principles. Develop Kerry Production Stream through training activities to drive improvements to align with Kerry global. Role model proactive engagement on production floor.
Customer Satisfaction: Be proactive and responsive in supporting customer complaints, communicating effectively on technical issues and ensuring the root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
Managerial Responsibilities: Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the Quality and Sanitation department, through training, development, communication, and accountability.
Technical Skills: Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team. Act as the primary technical liaison to support site with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.
What will you need to be successful?
Bachelors degree in food science, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, or related.
Relevant quality experience in food manufacturing with previous experience at a manager level (5+ years).
Strong background & knowledge in sanitation.
Strong leadership & people management skills.
SQF & HACCP certifications. PCQI is a nice to have.
Spanish is a nice to have.
Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $91,404 to $138,358 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
