Robert Half Staff Accountant in Melville, New York
Description We are in the machinery manufacturing industry, situated in MELVILLE, New York, 11747-3121, United States. We are on the lookout for a Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, your main role would be to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results in accordance with USGAAP, handle general accounting activities, and perform detailed expense analysis.
Responsibilities
• Record adjustments to the general ledger to ensure accurate and complete financial results.
• Handle general accounting activities, which include payroll expenses, prepaid expenses, accruals, and allocations.
• Maintain accuracy in accounting by preparing monthly journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Conduct detailed expense analysis, comparing actual results to budget and previous periods.
• Communicate results with the assigned team(s), address any issues that may arise, and provide commentary for significant fluctuations.
• Work on ad-hoc projects, which may include accounting research, analysis, and process improvements.
• Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain customer credit records and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position within the Machinery Manufacturing industry.
• Proven proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations.
• Familiarity with General Ledger operations and maintenance.
• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately and efficiently.
• Experience with Month End Close procedures and protocols.
• Knowledge and experience with NetSuite software.
• Proficiency with Oracle financial management software.
• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
• Demonstrated skill in using SAP for financial management and accounting purposes.
