Fairbanks Scales Inc. Stockroom Supervisor in Meridian, Mississippi
Overview
The stockroom supervisor oversees and coordinates activities in the stockroom with appropriate production and quality processes while driving and supporting a culture of safety and avoidance of risk as the first consideration in any task.
Essential Job Duties
Plans, organizes, and executes jobs to fulfill all internal/external parts orders in a correct and punctual manner.
Schedules and manages stockroom personnel.
Conducts cycle counts to assure inventory accuracy.
Provides timely tracking and status information pertaining to performance.
Schedules and promptly notifies the appropriate level of management when delays or conflicts occur.
Ensures that the receiving function is performed accurately and put away
Guarantees the receiving function takes place within 24 hours of a physical receipt.
Develops and maintains housekeeping and 5S standards.
Maintains SQDC tracking boards and conducts daily Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) meetings.
Other duties as determined by evolving needs, systems, and processes.
Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Prior supervisory or team lead experience.
Five (5) or more years of experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment.
Forklift operator certification.
Experience or training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or problem-solving training preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.
Proficiency in office computer skills such as Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to utilize, and learn typical business systems, ERP/MRP, web-based portals, etc.
Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work
Ability to concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- General plant and factory conditions, exposure to moderate to high noise levels, variable temperatures, and uneven terrain.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
Ability to move wrists, hands and/or fingers for typing and computer work
Adequate finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination for computer work, measuring tapes, rulers, telephones, and related office equipment.
Ability to don personal protective equipment in posted areas as required.
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
