Job Description

Data Engineering Operations Lead will be the face of Commercial Data Lake (CDL) team with external stakeholders for Data Pipeline & Operations support, escalation management in the Data Strategy and Operations area. Data Engineering Ops Lead will partner with BTS Data Strategy, Architecture, Delivery and Operations teams along with Business functional leads, in ensuring data pipelines and processes are optimally designed with the focus on providing support. Data Engineering Ops lead will be part of the team defining and enforcing standards, maintaining frameworks as part of onboarding and enhancing Data pipelines processes.

Responsibilities:

  • The lead will be responsible for conducting audit checks, presenting reports on Cloud Operations, SLA tracking, resource utilization, metrics and performance reporting.

  • Enforce Development standards as well manage standard data pipeline frameworks as part of onboarding data

  • Participate in bringing in leveraging Gen AI solutions as part of driving Operations Excellence

  • Communicate and track metrics to measure adherence to defined SLA’s and coordinate with stakeholders and Commercial Datalake Team on escalations and issue resolution.

  • Act as the liaison for the Cloud technology data operations team to business stakeholders and BTS functional leads.

  • Lead implementing Data Observability capabilities for US Commercial DataLake

  • Effectively communicate solution roadmap and release plan to business partners, BTS leadership, architecture, and engineering teams.

  • Manage Jira backlog in prioritizing features/user stories as part of CDL Stabilization and Optimization initiatives.

  • Present solution roadmap, release updates, etc. to business stakeholders on a regular cadence to share the value of CDL technology solutions with appropriate KPIs and metrics.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

  • Work with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships are monitored through periodic reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; or master’s degree and 4 years of experience in Information Systems or related field with 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in building frameworks, data pipelines/ETL using pyspark or scala.

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Familiarity with leveraging cloud technologies: AWS S3/EMR, Snowflake, IICS, LLM,Gen AI tools as part of Data Operations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and master new methods and technologies.

  • Must be deliverables-focused and meticulous.

  • Proven experience in identifying and facilitating resolution of requirements, process, and project issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Salary: $103,500 - $197,000
