Hotel Rehabs Design Coordinator in Mexico City, Mexico

An integral team member of Hotel Rehab’s A&D department team.
The Design Coordinator will play a key part in the delivery of turnkey design build services to hospitality clients nationwide. Design Coordinators will be responsible for assisting the Project Designers through the entire design-build process, from project inception to the in-house production of construction documents, through construction administration and closeout phases of the project.
You are creative with problem solving abilities and previous experience/educational background in design and construction.
You are tech-savvy and possess the ability to navigate projects with the utilization of the most up-to-date design documentation software and processes. You are always eager to learn new software and approaches within our industry.

Design Coordinator Role
The Design Coordinator will play a key role supporting Project Designer(s) and the A&D Manager in establishing and implementing new processes and procedures. The coordinator will take ownership of the design-build project documents to ensure their accuracy to scope, brand requirements, and completeness. The Design Coordinator is a multi-talented team member lending both their design knowledge and administrative skills to other members of the Hotel Rehabs and client project teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
Demonstrated high proficiency in Revit
Demonstrated proficiency in standard technical design production programs (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Sketch-up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, etc.)
Prior construction document production experience, including correlating a complete set of working drawings
Familiarity with building codes and accessibility standards
Strong written, verbal and computer communication/organizational skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail and organizational aptitude
Preferred Qualifications
Post graduate experience working full-time in an Architect’s or Designer’s office
A Master’s or professional degree and/or other professional certifications
Desire to obtain professional licensure and to grow within this position and organization
Prior hospitality design experience

Design Document Production
Assist Project Designer to produce and manage required design documentation
Assist Project Designer to review the PIP (Property Improvement Plans), SOW (Scope of Work) narratives, and proposal/contract documents to establish project parameters
Assist Project Designer to prepare and peer review interior design documentation (including furniture plans, elevations, FF&E specifications)
Coordinate permitting documents and submittals
Client Support
Participate in regular client update and OAC calls
Maintain on-going client relationships through regular contact
Administrative support as required (project files, communication, records management, etc.)
Design, Procurement, & Compliance
Assist the Project Designer site survey visit
Assist to manage schedules ensuring that critical milestones will be met
Assist to prepare and distribute design submittals and to coordinate brand waiver requests
Assist to maintain and grow cooperative internal, client and consultant relationships
Cultivate positive relationships with the hotel brand design and PIP managers
Assist Project Manager with construction administration, including review and response to submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and product transmittals, etc.
Team
Assist the Project Designer to coordinate with field staff to ensure constructability, functionality, & budget management
Assist to coordinate with Purchasing department, ensuring all specifications and take-offs are aligned with the scope of work
Participate in kick-off and handoff meetings with Estimating Procurement and Construction staff
Interface with clients and other Hotel Rehabs departments (estimating, purchasing, operations/ field staff)
Assist to maintain organized and complete project records
Assist to coordinate, submit, and follow up on brand design submittals
Assist to manage construction documents, providing updates to team members
Construction & Hotel Brand Compliance
Assist Project Designer to ensure work is performed to current brand standards
Assist to ensure ADA and code compliance
Coordinate permit design documents for submittal
