Your New Role...

The Director of Government Affairs for Latin American reports to the GVP of Global Government Affairs & Public Policy in Washington, DC.

The Director is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with government officials and policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels throughout Latin America, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The primary responsibilities include developing, coordinating, and implementing legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts for WBD, with a focus on the acquisition, production, and distribution of audiovisual content, regulation of theatrical, pay-television and streaming platforms, including content requirements and advertising restrictions, and the protection of intellectual property. Additionally, this position actively participates in multilateral and bilateral fora, government consultative activities, and regional industry and business organizations to advance the company's public policy objectives. Liaises with key executives, as well as trade associations and industry peers, in the region with regard to all lines of business to identify opportunities to pursue policy objectives and anticipate and respond to regulatory and legislative challenges and opportunities.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Building relationships with government officials and policymakers, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments.

  • Developing and implementing advocacy strategies, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to build coalitions and amplify the company's message

  • Representing the company at hearings, meetings, and other events with government officials and policymakers, and working with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging

  • M onitors and reports on legislative and regulatory activity that could impact the company's reputation or brand, conducts research and analyzes data to inform policy decisions, develops policy proposals and presents them to policymakers.

  • Liaison with key executives, industry peers and trade associations for all business segments in the region to identify opportunities to pursue policy objectives and anticipate and respond to regulatory and legislative threats.

  • Identifying and executing on opportunities to leverage WBD's brands.

Qualifications & Experience...

Work Experience

  • At least 15 years of government affairs and/or media industry experience.

  • Work experience in Latin America.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • University study in a related field.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

Other Requirements

  • Preference for ability to work in Mexico City, Mexico; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Miami, FL, USA.
