A day in the life of...

The Physical Logistics Supervisor is part of the Transportation Hub Leadership Team responsible for overall supervision of transportation planning and load compliance related activities. Within the team, the transportation optimizer and load compliance lead will perform supervisory roles revolving around transport planning and tendering of loads, adherence to route guide compliance, planning exceptions and change management, overall load readiness procedure and other transportation cost-and-service-based optimization activities for Nestlé and is expected to balance operational oversight and personnel management. This role is responsible for the empowerment of the individual employee to perform in a way conducive to the success of the T-Hub by reinforcing process adherence, training, escalating issues, coordinating with other functional supervisors, employing motivation techniques, and as necessary, disciplining employees.

  • Understand and champion the maintenance of underlying transportation strategies stipulated in the Transportation Management L2 from Planning and Execution to Continuous Improvement amidst frontline employees.

  • Coordinate, in conjunction with Data Intelligence Expert & Finance, to identify and implement sustainable improvement initiatives within the transportation hub

  • Remove obstacles for frontline to achieve operational excellence in daily processes by performing 1:1's, developing rapport and building trust with direct reports.

  • Drive frontline accountability and ensure a development of competencies supporting successful and cohesive transportation management practices by taking active steps to monitor employee performance and utilizing effective motivation techniques

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience working in a logistics or supply chain role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.

  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.

  • 5+ years within transportation planning/execution environments.

  • Subject matter expertise developed by performing on the frontline

  • Experience with frontline labor interaction and management

  • Experience with, or within, multiple functional facets of supply chain

  • Ability to work independently and in a team under pressure and tight schedule in a shared services environment.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and resolve logistics issues

  • Experience in manage and prioritize workload

  • Experience in working in groups.

  • Good interpersonal relationship.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
