POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Mine Technology Supervisor, the Mine Technology Technician (MT Tech) manages systems, performs technical work, and directs contractors for various technology systems for Pinto Valley, mostly in the mine.

  • Work with Mine Technical Services, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance Planning, Mine Maintenance Execution, Dispatch Team, Radio Users, IT Team

External:

  • Work with contractors and vendors

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures
  • Ensure all activities comply with Company policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, such as MSHA, and the state mining dept.
  • Strong collaboration and communication with IT Team and end users
  • Manage assigned contractors working on site to the letter of the contract agreements or as stipulated in the scope of work.
  • Maintain and repair technology systems owned by the Mine Department. Including but not limited to: CAT MineStar, Sensemetrics, Pit Radar, Auto-Drill Systems, Earthworks, Remote mining Systems, Network components, and Fatigue Monitoring Systems.
  • Perform PMs and installs for technology systems.
  • Manage physical network infrastructure to enable MineStar and other technology features to work optimally.
  • Manage and maintain the VHF 2-way radio system at Pinto Valley in partnership with department owners, IT and Permitting.
  • Level 1 troubleshooting of equipment and electrical.
  • Work with CAT, Empire, and other technology providers to ensure systems are running optimally.
  • Give 24-hour support to operations for emergency technology issues.
  • Assist with technological projects pertaining to the mine equipment.
  • Plan, budget, communicate, and coordinate to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for all tasks/duties assigned or required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

  • Quick learner with proactive mindset.
  • Self-motivating.
  • Proven ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
  • Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system.
  • Experience with SAP or similar purchasing program.
  • Basic VHF 2-way radio understanding and experience.
  • Basic network understanding and experience.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Key Competencies / Skills

At least 3 - 7 years experience in network/communications; ideally in the mining industry.

Low voltage electrical trouble shooting.

Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.

Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.

Prior exposure to MineStar software and hardware is preferred. &nbs
