Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Miami, Florida

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Miami, Florida. The selected candidate will be in charge of managing the complete payroll process, responding to employee inquiries, and assisting in recruitment and onboarding activities. This role is specifically designed for individuals who possess skills in Accounting Functions, Auditing, Benefit Functions, Human Resources (HR) Administration, Onboarding, and Payroll.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire payroll process, including the calculation of wages, deductions, and overtime.

• Ensure payroll processing is accurate and timely, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.

• Prepare and distribute paychecks, direct deposits, and payroll reports.

• Actively respond to and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries related to payroll issues.

• Assist in the recruitment process, including the posting of job vacancies, screening of resumes, scheduling of interviews, and conducting reference checks.

• Coordinate and conduct orientations and onboarding activities for new employees.

• Maintain accurate employee records, including personal information, employment history, and training records. Requirements • Proficient in accounting functions such as maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and generating financial reports.

• Demonstrated experience in auditing, including verifying financial information, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.

• Familiarity with benefit functions, including managing employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

• Experience in human resources administration, including managing employee records, handling HR documents, and responding to HR inquiries.

• Proven ability in onboarding new employees, including conducting orientations, explaining company policies, and facilitating paperwork.

• Proficiency in payroll tasks such as calculating pay, deducting taxes and benefits, and issuing checks.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and management.

• Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Office Suite and payroll systems.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
