Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.

You will provide essential patient care assistance to support the doctor's daily activities, including greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. Additionally, you will assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes, relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person, and collecting patient data in person and by phone. You will also document patient concerns and messages in the electronic medical record for the physician’s review, complete and accurately take messages, route them to the appropriate area, and manage orders and referrals in the EMR system. You will be responsible for accurately documenting medical information in patient records, tracking and routing test results to the physician or nurse practitioner for review, and communicating test results to patients when appropriate. Furthermore, you will facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as directed by the physician or nurse practitioner. Lastly, you will maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies, and perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area

  • Manage orders and referrals in the EMR system

  • Accurately document medical information in patient records

  • Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review

  • Communicate test results with patients when appropriate

  • Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage

  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies

  • Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently

  • Process orders appropriately and accurately

Essential Skills

  • Vital sign documentation

  • Experience with ECW (eClinicalWorks)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed.

This role offers room for growth within the company and opportunities for overtime within different specialties.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00
