Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. You will organize and perform patient care services that support the physician’s practice, assist physicians with procedures, document medical history and case notes, and relay instructions from the physician to the patient. Additionally, you will collect patient data in person and by phone, document patient concerns, and ensure accurate message taking and routing. Your role will also include administering medications as directed by the physician, setting up cases in the EMR system, and performing basic registration and updating demographics. You will track and route test results to physicians or nurse practitioners, communicate test results with patients, facilitate patient care activities, and maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies. Proficiency in using electronic health records for daily documentation and communication is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors and assist them with questions or concerns

  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and collect patient information

  • Perform patient registration and verify insurance information

  • Process billing, payments, and other financial transactions

  • Maintain and update patient records

  • Assist with medical record filing and data entry

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations

  • Respond to inquiries and requests from patients and staff

  • Assist with special projects and other administrative tasks

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in using electronic health records, especially ECW and Eclinical works.

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in blood pressure measurement and phlebotomy.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Work Environment

You will work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM,
