A Sr. Mechanical Engineer job is available with our client in Middletown, RI. In this role you will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field and a minimum of 8 or more years of job-related experience. Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility, US citizenship is required.

Sr. Mechanical Engineer Job Duties:

• Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock, vibration, temperature).

• Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.

• Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field and a minimum of 8 or more years of job-related experience.

• Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings.

• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards.

• Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals.

• Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes.
