Ceco Door (an ASSA ABLOY company) is expanding our Order Management Team and is hiring a Training and Development Specialist for Order Processing. This role will be based out of our manufacturing facility located in Milan, TN.

What would you do as our Training and Development Specialist?

You would be responsible for identifying training needs for Order Management and building, maintaining & executing a developmental curriculum based on these needs. You will assess these needs from such things as rework reporting, internal & external NCR data, and structured requests. You will also guide and facilitate updated documentation as required.

You would also:

  • Independently seek out and maintain knowledge of current hollow metal and related hardware documentation, codes and standards.

  • Use various feedback mechanisms, such as rework reporting, internal & external NCR data, and structured requests, to continually evaluate the developmental needs of the Order Processing department.

  • Build, maintain and execute a training curriculum to address identified needs, including relevant competency validation & testing, consistent with established departmental and manufacturing processes.

  • Conduct team and/or individual training and develop meetings, communicating openly and transparently.

  • Create and provide individual developmental training plans, progress reports and feedback as required.

  • Maintain meticulous records of training provided to groups and individuals, and update department leadership on training gaps, progress, and opportunities on a consistent basis.

  • Function as a subject matter expert for the department, acting as an available mentor, while balancing knowledge transfer with continual employee development.

  • Inform and participate in the development of process and technical systems enhancements which improve quality and/or velocity performance, to meet or exceed company objectives.

  • Participate in departmental process governance, working closely with Product Specialists and department leadership to develop and maintain best practices in area of specialization.

  • Serve as a liaison to adjacent departments and functions, ensuring consideration of cross-departmental processes are integrated to order processing practices.

  • Guide, inform and participate in updating documentation as required.

  • Abide by, support and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, AADG policies and procedures and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

    The Skills and Experience you need :

  • Associate’s or higher degree in business administration, education, engineering or communication OR 5 years related work experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hollow metal Order Processing, required.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing standard drafting practices, strongly preferred.

  • Understanding of order fulfilment in a custom, engineered to order business.

  • General understanding of hollow metal manufacturing operation.

  • Must be an approachable, patient listener, with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to audiences of varied experience level.

  • Must possess excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to appropriately analyze, prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Ability to remain flexible and execute autonomously with only general strategic direction.

  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and work from sketches.

  • Must possess order processing experience in a custom engineered-to-order business, within sheet metal, construction, or related industry.

  • General understanding of commercial construction, with direct experience in hollow metal manufacturing strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to interpret, develop and maintain process flows, procedures and work instructions.

  • Must possess ability to gather, analyze and interpret data to inform decision-making.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience required.

  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
