Job Description
Job Title: Visitor Center Information Specialist
Multiple Locations: PA: Honesdale, Milford, Hawley, Stroudsburg, Jim Thorpe
Reports To: Visitor Center Manager
Summary: Promotes the Pocono Mountains region (the four counties: Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon) and informs individuals visiting the region of the activities and amenities the bureau's members provide.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and assist all visitors to the center with information (availability, things to do, places to dine) about the Pocono region
Answer all incoming information calls and provides callers with information (availability, things to do, places to dine) about the Poconos and other tourism-related requests.
Understands and is knowledgeable on how to navigate the website and relay information to guests
Read blogs and watch Pocono Television Network (PTN) and Pocono Mountains Magazine (PMM), and participate in tours, events, and any other opportunities to learn more about member businesses, the Poconos, and local offerings
Understand and utilize the Kiosks located at each center, show guests how to navigate the platform and find information on the Poconos
Enter partner referrals into partner database (CRM) for referral tracking into our system.
Prepare and accurately complete daily reports, including customer-served counts, and notation of visits from the commissioners and PMVB members (hotels, attractions, etc.)
Enter Pocono Mountains Travel Guide requests into consumer database
Utilize Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) for job related duties
Restock brochures for guests and assist in acquiring brochures for the center. Ensure literature and product displays are neat, clean, and orderly. Only stock member brochures and literature
Clean, tidy up, and organize center:
Ensure cleanliness outside/around the building (remove cobwebs and trash, ensure sidewalks and walking areas are clear of obstacles, etc.)
Clean and wipe down the restrooms/high-touch surfaces (Kiosks, sinks, door handles, etc.)
Restock restrooms with soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. when needed
Provide a completed checklist to the supervisor at the end of the day and notify them of any issues when they arise
Properly store literature and supplies in the Visitor Center's stockroom.
Maintain up-to-date inventory of supplies and member literature.
Track supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning disinfectants, etc.) on a weekly basis and report needs to the Visitor Center Manager.
Assist the public in emergency situations (document situation and report to management)
Maintain the accurate statistics and reference material
Help add to and maintain the team SharePoint site
Attended required virtual/in-person meetings and trainings
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of the Pocono region and its accommodations, things to do, restaurants, events/festivals, and other happenings in the four-county region (Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon counties).
Minimum three mo ths of related experience in customer service
Ability to write, read, and understand instructions
Customer service skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
Good computer skills
Extensive knowledge of the Pocono Mountains region
Ability to lift 30 pounds
