UWM School of Nursing (https://uwm.edu/nursing/) offers a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding ( MSP ), Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. UW-Milwaukee offers the BS in Nursing at UWM and UW-Parkside through a consortial partnership. Students are placed in clinical sites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in proximity to each campus location.
Job Summary

The Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor within the School of Nursing may teach courses in the classroom, clinical (hospital and long term care), community settings, health assessment clinical, and/or clinical laboratory for the School of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and/or University of Wisconsin-Parkside (Racine/Kenosha) and may include locations in classroom (in-person or virtual), clinical and community settings in southeastern WI.
The target start date for hire(s) will be January 3, 2025.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in, or completion of, a Masters of Nursing or Doctoral Nursing degree program
Current unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license in WI or ability to become licensed as RN in WI. The RN license must be valid by the start of the appointment.
Evidence of at least one year of clinical practice experience in nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred 50% completion of Master of Nursing degree, or equivalent progression through a doctoral nursing program.
Master of Nursing degree.
Doctorate in Nursing Practice ( DNP ) degree and/or PhD in a related field.
Evidence of at least two years of clinical practice experience in nursing, ideally within the last five years.
Clinical and/or theory teaching experience in a nursing program.
Certified Nurse Educator ( CNE ).
Expertise particularly in one or more of the following areas:
Medical/Surgical
ICU /Emergency
Intermediate/Progressive/Step-Down
Pediatrics
Maternal and infant nursing
Orthopedics
Care of ventilated patients
Additional expertise areas that may also be considered:
Long-Term Care, Memory Care, Rehabilitation Units, and/or Skilled Nursing Facilities
Population/Community health
Health Care Systems
Gerontology
Mental Health
Pathophysiology and Pharmacology
Psychomotor skills and simulation
Target Salary Range $54,000 - $56,500 on a 9-month basis at 100% FTE. Salary will be prorated based on appointment length and FTE (Final salary offer will be contingent upon applicant degree, knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process).
