Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Consumer Compliance Assistant Vice President (AVP). In this role, reporting to the vice president, you will help lead and oversee the consumer compliance function within SRC by fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on quality and development. Conducting oneself in a manner that aligns with the Bank’s values of service, integrity, inclusion, initiative, accountability, and objectivity is critical to success in this role.
Key responsibilities of this role:
Partner with the section’s vice president in leading a team of managers and individuals responsible for the supervision of consumer protection laws and regulations and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) at Ninth Federal Reserve District financial institutions and the handling of consumer complaints against these institutions.
Oversee a highly effective consumer compliance and CRA supervision program that identifies and responds proactively and effectively to identified risks and complies with Federal Reserve System (System) and Bank policies and procedures.
Support a strong performance and development culture through timely feedback and coaching and development opportunities for managers and staff.
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Consumer Affairs section and SRC division, including identifying process improvement needs and leading efforts to make needed improvements.
Coordinate with and develop strong working relationships with numerous stakeholders, including institution management, Reserve Bank management, Board staff, and colleagues at other Reserve Banks and supervisory agencies.
Leverage skills and experience to lead or participate in division, Bank, and System strategic, policy, and process improvement efforts.
Be a leader within the Bank in supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Advanced degree in business or law preferred.
10+ years of direct work-related experience in consumer compliance, internal audit, and/or operational risk, with five or more years leading teams and managing people (ideally in a financial institution or regulatory agency).
Examiner commission with advanced consumer compliance supervisory experience preferred.
Strong working knowledge of regulatory processes and consumer protection banking laws and regulations and work experience applying knowledge to complex situations.
Advanced consumer compliance and CRA technical skills and ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
Working knowledge of emerging consumer issues, trends and ongoing developments in supervision, as well as a strong understanding of current industry risk management practices and emerging risk concerns.
Strong leadership and employee development capabilities.
Excellent analytical and oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback, identify and develop leadership and management succession, and build strong teams.
Proven ability to make well-supported decisions and to present challenging messages respectfully and effectively to others.
Proven ability to develop strategic plans in a complex business environment and manage change to realize operational and strategic business improvements.
Proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple, complex projects and initiatives.
Ability to navigate ambiguity comfortably and respond to frequent change with purpose and resiliency.
Other Requirements:
An essential function of this position is working onsite on Bank premises in Minneapolis. The person in this role is required to work onsite on a full-time basis although ad hoc hybrid working days may be available.
This position requires periodic travel up to 15% annually.
This position requires access to confidential supervisory information (CSI) and/or Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) information. Access to CSI and FOMC information is limited to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, individuals who meet the definition of “protected individual” under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), and certain other nonimmigrants. Candidates who are not U.S. citizens must sign a declaration of intent to expeditiously become a U.S. citizen when eligible.
As a condition of employment, Bank employees must comply with the Bank’s ethics rules which generally prohibit employees, their spouses/domestic partners, and minor children from owning securities, such as stock, of banks or savings associations or their affiliates, such as bank holding companies and savings and loan holding companies.
Salary range is $158,500-286,500. Salary offer will be based on qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity.
