This position may work in both the East Bank clinic and the St. Paul satellite clinic locations. Detailed Job Responsibilities: Collaborate with nursing team and assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks, including but not limited to: Greet and receive patient and complete patient information in in the electronic health record (EHR): History and Physical, Demographics, Insurance Verification and other front desk registration and check-in duties Welcomes, guides, directs and when necessary assists in escorting of visitors and other customers throughout the building Assist in clinic opening and closing responsibilities Prepare room for patient's use: stock supplies and equipment, clean room after patient use, clean equipment Schedule appointments, tests, x-rays, consultations, and any services the patient may require Answers telephone, responds appropriately to the caller and redirect calls as needed Check-in appointments Maintain confidentiality in patient health data Upon patient and/or provider request, Chaperone during sensitive exam or procedure Transport Lab specimens to Lab Perform some Lab tests and prepare samples Perform EKGs Review patient chart for completeness Qualifications Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an approved Medical Secretary program or one year of medical experience which must include keyboarding experience and experience interacting with people (i.e. receptionist, switchboard, etc.) Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that respects and advances diversity and inclusion.
