Spectrum Plastics Master Controller, Site in Minneapolis, Minnesota
As the primary finance and accounting leader at the site, and part of the site management team, this role involves providing analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to our growing global business. The ability to work independently is crucial, Preparation of financial statements, forecasts, timely analytics and communication, and support of site and corporate objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly financial statements.
Financial month end close process
Capital expenditure approval and tracking
Financial Planning and Analysis
Prepare monthly and weekly forecasts.
Preparation of annual Budget
Provide analysis of sales, profitability, and expenses.
Cost Accounting
Create annual labour and overhead standards.
Monitor and provide analysis on material, labour, and overhead variances and scrap.
Inventory analysis and monitoring inventory reserve.
Plant Management
Be an active member of the Plant Management Team.
Communicate financial results to Plant and Corporate management.
Work with the other functional areas to provide financial insight to make key plant decisions.
Provide approvals of quotes, engineering change orders, purchase orders.
Implement and maintain DuPont SOX internal controls.
Other duties include: project management, continuous improvement projects, ad hoc analysis, external & internal audit support, and special projects as assigned from time-to-time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years’ related experience within a manufacturing company, including 3 years of previous Controller experience. CPA/MBA/CMA a plus. Must be highly computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and analytical skills. Requires deadline driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as key contributor on teams. IQMS ERP system experience a plus. The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Be able to perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Additional requirements include a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to multi-task with moderate supervision. Experience with IQMS and Cognos products would be plus, but not required.
