KLJ Facilities and Equipment Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description Position Purpose Provide equipment support and facility services for all KLJ Solutions offices in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.The Facilities and Equipment Technician will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all buildings, vehicles, and equipment overseen by the Facilities and Equipment team. Essential Functions *Assisting with the logistics of all KLJ equipment *Assisting with asset tracking at all locations *Establish and maintain relationships with coworkers, vendors and contractors *Facilitate the transfer of vehicles and/or equipment between locations either through contracted vendors or by operating a truck and trailer *General office maintenance that could include many miscellaneous jobs such as, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, cleaning, moving, disassembling and assembling office furniture, repairing sheetrock, painting, and others. *Adhere to budget and schedule *Utilize effective written and oral communication skills Responsibilities *Become familiar with space planning, conceptual design, materials and furnishings *Inventory of furniture and equipment *Take onsite dimensions and verify existing conditions Qualifications *High School Diploma or GED required *Basic Computer Knowledge *Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles *Must have experience pulling, backing up, and maintaining trailers Preferences: *Carpentry, mechanical, and electrical experience highly desired *Experience working with furniture and office equipment *Experience working with vendors Competencies Knowledge: *Knowledge and understanding of processes, procedures, and methods needed to perform duties which is generally acquired and developed through formal education, training, and relevant work experience. *Use knowledge to make decisions by analyzing the subject or issues and selecting from a variety of approaches for completion of tasks. Skills: *Using the guidelines provided, apply judgment and interpretation skills by selecting the most appropriate option to complete duties. Abilities: *Management does not exist or is limited in scope. *Includes activities that produce portions of decisions made in conjunction with other individuals. *Use common courtesy while interacting with people to satisfactorily perform the job. Relationships The Facilities and Equipment Technician receives supervision from the Facilities and Equipment Manager. *Complete assignments independently and obtain guidance for unfamiliar tasks, problems and situations. Hours and Travel This position requires the individual to work as needed.The majority of the time will be spent traveling to other locations to perform duties outlined above.The number of hours worked will vary from week to week.
