COLLIERS SECURITIES Financial Reporting Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota
The Financial Reporting Analyst translates end-user requests into actionable system requirements for the development team as needed. This role acts as a bridge between business and technical teams, they support development, testing, and end-user training. Additionally, they assist the Application Development Manager in project prioritization and release scheduling while maintaining system documentation. Continuously involved in the system lifecycle, they help identify necessary updates, enhancements, or retirements to ensure optimal performance. The Reporting Analyst is focused on the analysis, development, and implementation of reports using the current standards and best practices in use by the IT department. They may also be asked to participate in data object definitions, testing of reports developed by other team members, and over all data management tasks. This role requires the employee to be onsite in our Minnesota office at least 3 days per week. Candidates must already be located in Minnesota or be willing to relocate at their own expense. Hybrid work options may be available after an initial onsite period. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gather and document business and technical requirements using standardized templates and processes. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for developers, ensuring clarity across systems such as CAPPs, Colliers Planet, Console Apps, SSRS Reports, and Microsoft Business Central. Serve as a technical resource for integration projects, ensuring smooth implementation. Manage multi-phase projects, coordinating tasks with developers and ensuring timely completion. Facilitate user testing and obtain sign-offs to confirm system functionality. Assist with Data and Document Management tasks including requirements gathering, testing, and contractor management for implementation of said requirements. Assist the Application Development Manager with release planning, prioritizing projects, and avoiding conflicts in the release schedule. Maintain and update team process documentation, including automated job lists, development/testing environments, and regression testing protocols. Develop a deep understanding of business operations and system functionality to advise users on effective solutions. Assume responsibility for ad hoc reporting as needed and requested across the platform, weekly, monthly, quarterly Stay familiar with system architecture to recommend enhancements and troubleshoot issues. Perform additional duties as needed. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 4-6 years of previous related work experience in financial services or related industry 1 year of experience with Microsoft SSRS report development Moderate SQL experience related to retrieving data via query and stored procedure. Diploma or degree in a related field preferred; relevant education and experience in other disciplines are also considered.
