This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.

Primary Accountabilities:
Serve as the lead legal partner to the Thermo King, Americas business responsible for a wide range of business and strategic matters, as well as all day-to-day legal advice, including:
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for sales of equipment.
Analyze and counsel business on applicable statutory/regulatory requirements related to sales, installation, marketing, and products.
Work with business leadership to develop strategic and tactical plans for new products and services, including identifying legal, contractual, and project risks.
Identify and analyze the company’s claim rights and recovery from customers and suppliers.
Review and approve internal and external marketing and communications, including sales plans, coop programs, product brochures, websites, and press releases.
Provide legal advice on warranty documents, processes, policies, and regulations.
Identify, catalog, and create policies and processes for data collection and sharing.
Provide legal support to and work closely with the company litigation teams to resolve claims and litigation concerning the Thermo King, Americas business unit.
Ensure the creation and use of standard work in day-to-day legal support.
Develop and implement consistent standards, processes, metrics, solutions, templates, and tools to improve and facilitate best-in-class business and contract processes in the Thermo King, Americas business unit.
Drive the execution of multiple policies, plans and projects for the purpose of providing commercial legal services including identifying, assessing, communicating, and managing and mitigating risk and identifying solutions and strategies to protect the company
Establish, maintain, and drive execution of long- and short-term legal department goals, objectives, policies, and programs, as well as manage the legal budget for the Thermo King, Americas business unit.
Anticipate and proactively manage and mitigate legal risk for the SBU, as necessary.
Set and drive priorities, goals and objectives and ensure alignment with the SBU leadership team
Qualifications:
J.D. degree from an accredited US law school
Member in good standing of a State Bar Association
15+ years’ experience practicing as an attorney; at least 10+ years’ experience as in-house counsel.
Strong corporate transactional background with experience negotiating and drafting a variety of complex commercial agreements.
Strong experience in the areas of distribution and antitrust law.
Strong legal judgment and executive presence
Proven experience in business law; strong business acumen
Expert grasp of contracting concepts and superior legal and analytical skills – excellent judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective solutions and in creating and implementing standard tools to resolve recurring business and/or commercial issues
Strong internal and external communication and negotiation skills and ability to influence and collaborate, including the ability to stand firm on issues with business clients when necessary.
Ability to quickly understand business objectives of an agreement, identify related issues, and facilitate a risk/benefit analysis, including operating in the ‘gray’ zone and making decisions on incomplete information.
Business-oriented approach to problem-solving, tempered by an appreciation for legal complexity and risk management.
Experience in litigation involving commercial agreements is an advantage.
Detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills.
Ability to work independently and to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks, and meet deadlines within a changing, face-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal management and leadership skills that foster teamwork and maintain effective working relationships.
Flexible and adaptable – unafraid of ambiguity or a challenge
Experience managing the work of outside counsel and other consultants.
