Overview
The Fairview Health System Principal Analytic Consultant (PAC) is a strategic partner for senior leaders who translate strategy and operational workflows into measurable and actionable information insights. The PAC will facilitate all information capabilities on behalf of an assigned leader. This role ensures analytic processes are optimized to deliver trusted and timely information assets to Fairview's operational and business divisions. The PAC has the required subject matter expertise to guide, collaborate, and advise operations on analytic capabilities and the assets currently available. This individual partners with the operational data stewards to ensure that metric definitions are aligned with goals and works closely with Data Governance to ensure that each domains’ requests are appropriately rationalized. This individual is accountable for making sure their assigned leader is aware of ongoing analytics activities and how they add value to their area or strategy. The PAC utilizes analytic best practices to ensure that outcomes and measurements are of the highest integrity and statistically rigorous. This role requires a deep understanding of analytic needs in a healthcare organization and helps align outstanding requests to domain needs.
The Principal Analytic Consultant is responsible for information analysis as well as the review, assessment, validation and development of data management processes to support Fairview’s health initiatives. This role will lead design, development, and execution of data transformation into actionable information. The Analyst will create and maintain state-of-the-art information assets using but not limited to, requirements gathering, benchmarking, trending, opportunity analysis and predictive modeling. The PAC will also assist with advancing analytic competency and data literacy throughout the organization. This role will report to leadership within the Clinical, Quality and Population Health Analytics Center of Expertise, with a dotted line reporting relationship to the leaders they serve
Responsibilities Job Description
Partner with operational leadership on all matters related to analytics.
· Provides bi-directional line of sight between an executive or service line and analytics.
· Leads discussions with leadership to design analytic solutions using electronic medical record data, claims, and other data sources.
· Mentors Analysts in the principles and technologies used by the Data Reporting and Analytics organization to support team member proficiency and development.
· Accountable for defining requirements, data validation, and supervision of report development to support enterprise analytics, statistics, predictive modeling and external data submissions.
· Work directly with the Analytics Engineers, Data Modelers and/or ETL Developers to create meaningful and actionable content for the enterprise.
· Analyzes and models data to provide insight and actionable recommendations.
· Partner with data scientists, operational teams and researchers to develop and implement algorithms for performing predictive and prescriptive analytics.
· Applies appropriate tests to analytical results to provide high quality and accurate results.
· Leads the review process of data sent to external vendors by Fairview. Includes working directly with the external vendors to understand the business rules applicable to the data extracts.
· Researches and reviews benchmarking data for comparison, validation, and utilization. Identifies areas for greatest opportunity for intervention.
· Creates written narrative summaries that outline project purpose, methodology, summary of findings, trends of interest, and opportunities for consideration.
· Provides technical, analytical, and business guidance to operational team members and other departments with Fairview.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in a Clinical field, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline.
Experience
· 10+ years of experience in analysis of healthcare data and management of healthcare information systems.
· Results-oriented, strong collaboration, problem solving and negotiation skills.
· Handles sensitive and confidential information, regularly exercises discretion and judgment.
· Ability to think strategically, analyze issues and develop recommendations.
· Database query experience is required.
· Strong quantitative and analytic skills.
· Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to address problems.
· Ability to write and present reports and presentations.
License/Certification/Registration

Preferred Qualifications
Education
· Master’s Degree in a Clinical field, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline preferred.
Experience
· Experience using Epic's Data Warehouse, Data Model, or Application.
· Experience in a healthcare setting

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
