Job Title: Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and direct project teams in the development and execution of projects from receipt of order to shipment. The ideal candidate will ensure customer satisfaction, develop strong relationships, protect the company's position, and maximize project objectives in terms of quality, financial performance, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
Review Purchase Order/Contract requirements (Proposal, RTA, Contract File, etc.).
Schedule and conduct kick-off meetings, both internal and with the customer.
Create and maintain the Project Plan.
Communicate the Project Plan to management and project team members.
Ensure support is obtained from Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and other departments to meet project objectives and milestones.
Establish and agree on a schedule of activities leading to contract completion with clear milestones, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
Serve as the main point of contact for the customer within the company.
Ensure effective written and verbal communication with the customer, upper management, and project team members.
Conduct progress and financial reviews.
Keep upper management informed of project progression, highlighting any major concerns, risks, issues, opportunities, and successes.
Make customer and vendor visits as required.
Monitor and identify any changes to the Scope of Work.
Create and distribute Change Orders, ensuring approval from internal departments and the customer.
Ensure in-process, functional, final/acceptance, and customer witness testing is performed and documented as required.
Verify shipping terms, method, and details with the Shipping Department.
Initiate invoices to the Accounting Department for progress/milestone payments.
Issue Customer Surveys and solicit timely feedback.
Ensure the company's commercial and contractual position is not compromised.
Perform other duties as assigned by management to meet business needs.
Essential Skills
Four (4) year degree in Engineering, Project Management, or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong technical knowledge or ability to grasp custom projects.
Excellent leadership skills and decision-making abilities.
Ability to analyze project financial data and make recommendations.
Proven ability to interact and communicate with internal and external customers.
Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in motors, generators, or other rotating machines is a plus.
Experience with SAP in an engineering environment is a plus.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in northeast Minneapolis, requiring 3-5 days per week in the office. The role involves a blend of office and factory work as needed. Join our growing service/aftermarket group and contribute to our dynamic team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
