Work you'll do

The Senior Engineer position supports the SOC as an escalation point identifying and addressing potential SIEM content/level I and II engineering security concerns as this role is the first line of operational support. This role is also responsible for supporting Security application patching, content creation as requested from all stake holders, and development of process documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to meet the team's security goals by developing security detections within a SIEM solution.

  • Maintain the relationship with a security operations center, gather team requirements to enhance monitoring requirements.

  • Troubleshot security detection issues reported by SIEM stakeholders.

  • Provide skillful knowledge within a Linux / Cloud environment, editing and maintaining SIEM configurations to maintain version requirements.

  • Interact with senior management, as necessary.

  • Document and update the Team's process and Threat Detection procedures.

  • Document and update SOC Engineering process procedures and runbooks.

  • Working knowledge of MS DevOps as a version control of SIEM configuration files.

  • Use DevOps to provide metrics and work items for stakeholder review.

Cyber Security

Cyber Security vigilantly protects Deloitte and client data. The team leads a strategic cyber risk program that adapts to a rapidly changing threat landscape, changes in business strategies, risks, and vulnerabilities. Using situational awareness, threat intelligence, and building a security culture across the organization, the team helps to protect the Deloitte brand.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration.

  • Minimum 5 years various technology experience.

  • Minimum 2 years cyber security experience within SIEM Administration.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Splunk Power User 3 certified.

  • Cloud Fundamental Certificates.

  • Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and lower management.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux, working knowledge of Cloud environments, Azure O365, and SOC processes.

  • An understanding of possible attack activities such as network probing/ scanning, DDOS, malicious code activity and possible abnormal activities, such as worms, Trojans, viruses, etc.
