VAA Minneapolis, MN, USA Sr. Accountant (Hybrid/Flex) Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact! We are hiring a Senior Accountant with a background in project accounting to work closely with the CFO in providing accurate and timely financial reporting and insights to drive business performance and decision-making. The successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, deep understanding of accounting principles & standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Your role: * Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analysis to provide insights into project performance and overall financial health. * Month-End Close: Manage the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries, ensuring timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions. * Project Accounting: Manage all aspects of project accounting for multiple projects, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ensuring accurate project cost tracking. * WIP Management: Oversee the tracking and reporting of Work In Progress (WIP), ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue and costs. Collaborate with project and billing managers to identify opportunities to improve our WIP Aging. * Cash Management & Treasury: Oversee daily cash flow activities, ensuring efficient management of cash resources and accurate cash projections. * Compliance & Financial Controls: Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to provide necessary documentation and ensure compliance with all audits and tax filings. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. * Collaboration: Work closely with CFO, project managers, billing managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and support project decision-making. Your resume must include: * Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. * CPA or CMA certification * Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience in a professional services environment, preferably within the AEC industry. * Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting skills with a deep understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. * Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. * Advanced Excel skills. Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar is preferred. * Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data. * Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams. Starting Annual Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000.
