Robert Half Staff Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role involves a range of responsibilities within the accounting department, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. This role is a long-term contract position, with a focus on maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate job numbers or general ledger codes are assigned

• Select vendor invoices for bi-weekly payment runs and send to management for approval and signature

• Assist with coding and entering credit card transactions into the accounting system

• Ensure all vendor invoices are processed in a timely manner

• Reconcile bank statements and credit cards, ensuring that accounts receivable and accounts payable are balanced

• Post necessary adjusting journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions and account balances

• Record accruals for expenses or revenues that have been incurred but not yet recorded

• Review bank/financial transactions for the month to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Generate customer final invoices and close out jobs

• Maintain accurate customer credit records and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with maintaining and updating the General Ledger

• Capable of preparing and recording Journal Entries

• Skilled in Month End Close processes

• Familiarity with using NetSuite for accounting tasks

• Proficiency in Oracle financial software

• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software

• Knowledge of SAP financial systems

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion

• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
