JOB DESCRIPTION The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of all UGMTC buildings, facility systems and equipment. These duties may be performed individually or collectively as part of a team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs minor repairs of UGMTC buildings, facility systems and equipment; supports major repair issues under the supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator Technician, Facilities Director or a licensed professional. Performs preventative maintenance procedures on a routine scheduled basis. Works with the maintenance team to ensure work orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Identifies and documents facility repair and maintenance requirements; maintains appropriate records of work performed. Provides observations and suggestions to the maintenance team to improve the condition of organizational facilities; suggests improvement to maintenance processes and procedures. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Provides excellent customer service to and interacts calmly and reasonably with staff and clients, in a professional manner to solve issues. Provides general support including but not limited to painting, basic construction, snow removal, custodial duties and trash removal. Maintains co-operative relationships and communication with other departments to ensure access and positive experiences for UGMTC residents and support achievement of program objectives.
