Eaton Corporation Plant Manager in Mississauga, Ontario

Eaton is currently seeking a Plant Manager. This position is located at our Mississauga, ON location. Employee benefits will be provided effective on day 1 of employment.

What you’ll do:

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing a manufacturing facility (assembly of customized electrical distribution and industrial control products) in order to generate a profit and positive cash flow through customer focus and utilizing all selling and distribution routes to bid, book and administer orders at desirable margins. In addition, the Plant Manager will support the regional sales force in penetrating the regional markets through control of price and with an emphasis on value and service to the customer.

This role is located at our Mississauga, ON facility, one of six Eaton Satellite locations across Canada. The Satellites comprise of smaller to medium assemble-to-order facilities and compliment our large manufacturing facilities within Canada. Local site product lines may include; standard panelboards, switchboard, control and custom control product assemblies as required.

Essential functions:

  • Drive a zero mindset in safety – Everyday starts with safety.

  • Support deployment of EHS procedures and plans to attain a “zero-incident” culture.

  • Direct and establish objectives for the site’s marketing activities which include growth, operational metrics and manage standard profit and operating profit.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the field sales force and key distributors to determine and assure market success.

  • Direct the customer order engineering, systems, quality and manufacturing operations of the operations to assure cost, quality and service objectives are achieved.

  • Administer Eaton policies and develop and implement operation policies and procedures to assure compliance and uniform application under the Eaton vision in support of “doing business right”.

  • Manage and implement cost, productivity and customer service improvement programs.

  • Work in conjunction with marketing, plant and functional leaders to develop and implement market driven strategies and coordinate with other Eaton manufacturing plants.

  • Develop and execute strategic capital spending plans for the site to meet division and product line growth objectives.

  • Deploy and support sound people policies and practices to ensure effective recruiting, training, motivation and retention of personnel, while enhancing organizational capabilities.

  • Provide marketing/engineering consultation and advice to customers and sales force.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma in technical or business field from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing, Sales and/or Operations Management

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within an 80-km radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution

  • Prior leader of people experience

Skills:

  • Proven leadership qualities and demonstrated performance

  • Strong motivational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Working knowledge of design software (ie AutoCAD)

  • Sound technical application engineering experience of distribution and motor control products

  • Demonstrated commercial awareness skills and knowledge

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Additional Information:

  • This position would require up to approximately 25% travel across various locations

  • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license

  • Exposure to a wide variety of working environments and working conditions while visiting or working at Eaton manufacturing environments, offices settings and customer sites.
