We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Engineering team in Midwest Region, Wyandotte,MI or Monaca.

Travel for this role may be required for up to 50% of the time.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in collaborating with manufacturing sites across North America to implement, maintain, and enhance the asset integrity program for fixed equipment. Your responsibilities will include assisting sites in program development, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and managing engineering requests such as RBI analysis, fitness for service evaluations, and thickness calculations. Additionally, you will participate in root cause failure analyses (RCFAs), driving safety improvements and developing innovative, cost-effective solutions to enhance regional performance.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise while ensuring compliance with all applicable inspection and repair codes.

  • Analyzing inspection reports and findings to provide insightful recommendations and establish a clear path forward, which may include identifying any additional inspection activities that are required.

  • Reviewing and updating site mechanical and asset integrity procedures.

  • Recommending adjustments to inspection types and frequencies based on a comprehensive analysis of inspection history, current findings, changes in service conditions, corrosion rates and mechanisms, as well as the remaining lifespan of the equipment.

  • Developing and reviewing repair plans and welding procedures in accordance with BASF guidelines and applicable codes.

  • Collaborating with sites to raise awareness and implement alternative access technologies, such as rope access, drone usage, and specialized NDE technologies.

  • Offering expertise on a range of inspection tools to ensure compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local regulations.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or possess an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience. Have a minimum of 8 years of experience in asset integrity or fixed equipment management.

  • Are knowledgeable about ASME Codes, inspection processes, and inspection tools.

  • Have experience with Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, and Reliability Roadmaps, preferred.

  • Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills.
