Position Summary: The Engineering Graduate Development program is a 2-year rotational program preparing recent engineering graduates with exposure and experience to the different aspects of manufacturing within ASSA ABLOY. At the end of the 2-year program, the graduate will be placed in full-time permanent position within the manufacturing and engineering team of the company in which they were hired.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The graduate program is a 24-month program designed to give newly graduated engineers exposure to different manufacturing facilities focused on the full life cycle process.

  • MTs will attend an initial 1-week orientation conducted at the location in which their permanent assignment will take place. Trainees will learn about the ASSA ABLOY culture, network with leaders of the company and receive leadership training

  • Additional leadership and classroom training will take place during the training period

  • The majority of the time will be spent completing on-the-job field training in 4- 6month rotations during the 2-year period:

  • 6 months in Manufacturing Engineering/Operational Excellence (Monroe, NC)

  • 6 months in Quality Engineering/Operational Excellence (Monroe, NC)

  • 6 months in Design Engineering/Product Development (Monroe, NC)

  • 6 months in Quality Engineering/Operational Excellence (Huntersville, NC)

  • During rotational assignments, MTs will be exposed to all elements of manufacturing, in many cases performing each role for a day or part of a day to understand each phase of the process

  • MTs will partner with department leaders to understand all department in the plants to include non-manufacturing roles like HR, Finance, Purchasing, Sourcing and Logistics

    Rotation Assignments: Monroe, NC and Huntersville, NC

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher with a degree in Engineering

  • Must have less than two (2) years of work experience in a professional work environment, excluding internships or positions held while in high school or college

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to travel during 2-year training period

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in a 24 x 7 operations environment including nights, weekends, evenings and holidays, on-call or available for emergency situations

  • Hours are irregular with a minimum of 40 hours per week

  • Work primarily indoors with a range of temperatures to include possible high heat in summer months.

  • Work around heavy and moving machinery
