Finite Production Scheduler

About the Role:

The Finite Planning Specialist role is primarily responsible for crafting and maintaining the sites rolling 4-week production plan. This role works closely with the central scheduler to meet demand. This role is a liaison between central scheduling, operations, material supply, brand innovation and engineering. This role is highly visible at the site. The objective of the role is to match demand with site capabilities while minimizing unforeseen events to deliver quality spirits to the consumer! The successful candidate should be familiar with manufacturing supply chain operations and have demonstrated a high degree of initiative in prior roles.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the 4-week production plan for the Montgomery site.

  • Calibrates the monthly Best Plan with their Central partner.

  • Maintains a process of daily production orders.

  • Leads the site weekly scheduling meeting.

  • Maintains site scheduling adherence and similar critical metrics.

  • Maintains aspects of BOM maintenance and BOM transitions

  • Supports the Alt BOM and Production Version management process.

  • Maps out scheduling and labor scenarios as requested.

  • Build strong relationships with central scheduling, central material planning, site material planning, project managers and site leadership to ensure a robust, system driven production schedule is delivered.

  • Responsible for back-up coverage plans for vacations. Training of back-up scheduler.

  • Monitors the closing and maintenance of process orders with site operations.

  • Has the ability to back up the site Material Specialist, as necessary.

  • Actively joins weekly meeting with brand change and innovation teams.

  • Participates in daily and weekly tier data and meetings.

  • Leading participant in the weekly material calls.

  • Meets weekly with the central scheduler to calibrate plans and constraints.

  • Coordinates monthly capacity reviews with central partners.

  • Coordinates quarterly run rate or cycle reviews with central partners.

  • Coordinates constraint reviews with central partners.

  • Supports strategic projects as a key participant.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Degree in supply chain or experience in the field is preferred.

  • ERP and MRP experience required. SAP experience preferred. OMP or similar Advanced Planning software desirable.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be highly skilled in MS Excel. Microsoft Access experience is desirable.

  • Strong analytical skills required.

Desirable:

  • APICS CPIM certification is desirable.

  • Packaging or high sku manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Proven ability to explain a packaging or processing operation.

  • Demonstrated ability in how to interact in both union and non-union manufacturing environment.

  • Process experience in BOM creation, source list management, production version set up, process order management and/or MRP is a desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated innovative solutions for the supply chain through a deep understanding of how the business operates.

  • Demonstrated ability to introduce new ideas and is not afraid to fail.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize their workload.

  • Demonstrated ability to be process oriented.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a meeting.

  • Demonstrated ability to train others in both technical and conceptual aspects of scheduling.

  • Ability to provide and receive feedback.

  • Demonstrated conflict resolutions skills.

  • Methodical problem-solving capabilities.
